This is my first furniture before & after. I'm so excited I can hardly stand it!
But first, what did I learn?
1. Black paint is awesome.
2. Benjamin Moore paint is not carried at Lowes or Home Depot.
3. Rust-Oleum paint isn't half bad as alternative.
4. Those little foam roller brushes rock - no brush bubbles or bristle strokes!
And now....
Here's what the table looked like before:
And here's me doing my happy dance (you'll just have to imagine it because you don't REALLY want to see it)!
hi kirsti! it looks great! i love the knob with the black paint- very classy! and your happy dance is darling- you really know how to move it, girl! :)
ReplyDeleteYay you. But be careful. Painting furniture can become addictive :

Beautiful! Watch out once you start redoing furniture it is hard to stop :) Very addictive!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing what paint can do? Nice transformation!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! I use Rust-Oleum too. I've seen a lot of people spray-painting stuff, but I think you can get better results and more control with a brush.
ReplyDeleteFor the record, this was not Rust-Oleum spray paint. This was the kind that comes in a can. Who knew?!
ReplyDeleteYou did a nice job! Came over from BNOTP.
ReplyDeleteabsolutely delightful! You have great reason to be excited and proud! It's just fabulous... I hopped over from Between Naps on the Porch and am so happy that I did! Please accept my invitation to drop in at my place when you get a moment. I have become a follower and hope you'll do the same...
ReplyDeleteStopped over from BNOTP - the table looks great, love the knob!
ReplyDeleteLove black paint too...this looks wonderful! Great job!
ReplyDeleteThe Black turned out gorgeous! I love the hardware. Great job.
ReplyDeleteThat looks great! I love it when a makeover turns out even better that you imagined it! Nice job, keep up the good work. Stop by for a visit sometime!

LOOKS GREAT! BLACK IS THE BEST.
ReplyDeleteI think you did a good job. I love learning new stuff that makes things so much easier the next time because you know what to expect.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful job! The black looks great and the new knob is precious! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet! I love what you have done. I paint vintage furniture for a living and I am so excited you took the leap. What's your next project? I have a 7 ft. cupboard laying on the wood floor in the living room as we speak. Picked it up for $8.50 yesterday. Haven't started painting, but maybe tomorrow after the garage sales!
ReplyDeleteI think my next project might be two chairs -- wish me luck!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Because you did such a good job you'll be looking around the house to see what else you can paint!
ReplyDeleteI like it! Where will this table go?
ReplyDeleteWow...looks great! I often get Benjamin Moore paint mixed at Lowes. They have the paint codes, it just takes longer for the workers to look them up.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you'll paint next! :)
That table was a great piece to work with and it looks wonderful in the black. Nice work!
